7th Grade Pop Art Comic Portraits

7th grade created self portraits inspired by Pop Art artist, Roy Lichtenstein. Lichtenstein's artwork resembles  comic book styled art. His artwork is made up dots (Benday dots) and thick, black outlines. 7th graders really enjoyed the playful look and the colors of his artwork!


For our project, students drew their self portraits on a sheet of paper full of Benday dots. Using markers, the students colored in all of the dots on their artwork! They also included either a think or a thought bubble into their work.
