1st Grade Groovy Guitars

In a lesson connecting to music class, students learned all about guitars in Art! 1st graders painted their own guitars, assembling their own instruments using paper, buttons, glue, and glitter!

Students did such a fantastic job creating colorful and unique guitars!

8th grade Civil War Memorial Collages!

In their Social Studies class, 8th graders were hard at work learning about the Civil War. In their class, they were to focus on a particular General (North or South) and create a write up about them in Computers.

In an interdisciplinary lesson connecting Social Studies with Art, students created a memorial honoring their Civil War General using collage materials (texture papers, magazine images, etc.)! Students learned about different types of memorials, collage art, and watercolor techniques!

Excellent work, 8th grade!

6th Grade Egyptian Sarcophagi!

In a lesson connecting to a Social Studies unit, 6th graders created sarcophagi! In Art, we studied the intricate designs, gold details, and use of hieroglyphics on the ancient sarcophagi of Egyptian royalty.

Students created their own unique symmetrical sarcophagus using various color pencil techniques, 'royal' paint (gold, silver, & bronze), and gem sticker details. Students also added their own hieroglyphics to their sarcophagus!

Students did such a fantastic job on this project! Great job 6th grade!
